Player Profile from Match Day Programme. (Season 2002/03)

Despite a delayed start to this season, Tom Jordan is determined to make up for lost time.  With two hamstring injuries out of the way, the Bees back row is now determined to prove his worth.

Now in his 4th season with the Bees, Tom has his work cut out with a completive back row se-up at the club.  But recent performances show that he is sure o make his mark with ambition to become regular first choice player.

Starting his rugby career as a 12 year old at Bromsgrove School, a place where rugby dominates, Tom moved on to Coventry Colts.  But from here he has found his home to be at Sharmans Cross Road.  From an early age Tom saw National Division One as being a high level of rugby that would confirm in his own mind that he had archived his initial ambitions.

The pinnacle to date, however, has to be his selection for the National Divisions side to play South Africa last season: I had seen this as the next step and though that if I could get selected at this level then that would be a big ambition fulfilled.  And, low and behold, a couple of weeks later I got the call.  And whilst the Springboks won that encounter, the National Divisions side certainly held their own against some of the big names of South African rugby.

As to this season at the Bees, Tom has seen a number of positive changes: I think all of the squad can see how the training and structure of training has improved this season.  The sessions are a lot more structured, with everything set out very precisely.  Everything is very concise and precisely drawn up, and the results are showing on the park.

The future aspirations and potential of the club are great.  We on the pitch can see the potential of The Bees and see the need to be on a path of continual improvement if the club is o reach its ambitions.

Looking at his opposite numbers around the game, however, it is no surprise that the name Richard Hill springs up straight away: I like his style, with being a big hitting No. 7.  Whilst the likes of Neil Back are obviously great players, it is the Richard Hill style that I enjoy playing most.  A number of the All Black players are increasingly coming through with his similar approach to the game in mind.

Whilst rugby dominates his life, increasingly Tom is looking for other outlets.  With his current off field job  being based around the marketing of a new auction website about to be launched, he still finds time to water-ski, play tennis and gold, and also makes frequent visits to the gym:  Theres a lot of banter around the changing rooms from the lads and a lot of t seems to be directed at my body-building approach to working out.  As you can imagine, it gets more than its fair share of attention from the rest of the squad.  Dont we know another Jordan whose stats are to be admired???

(Omg has to be a bloke who done this!!!!)
